Learning Japanese in VR


Study description

This study asks participants to learn 15 Japanese words inside a VR environment in order to help us understand how learning occurs in VR.

We ask that participants actively try to learn the words during the session.

Participation takes around 35 minutes and each participant will receieve £11/$14/€12 (depending on local curency) for their time.

This study is supported by Queen Mary, University of London.

Participant requirements

  • Be aged 18+
  • Have access to a PC and Steam VR
  • Have access to a consumer VR headset (e.g. Oculus, Vive, Index)
  • Have an Amazon or PayPal account to receive compensation
  • Not be able to speak Japanese to a conversational level
