Study description
We invite you to participate in the evaluation of a prototype VR system that supports neuroscientists with exploring scientific literature. The work is part of my PhD research at Utrecht University under the supervision of Prof. Lynda Hardman and Dr. Wolfgang Hürst.
Because of the COVID-19 situation, the study will take place remotely at your location. You will need your own VR headset (or have access to one). During the evaluation, we will present a number of interaction tasks and then interview you about your experience. The whole test should take about one hour.
In the study, you will be asked to find diseases related to a part of the brain with the help of widgets designed in the system. You can access the list of papers and sentences that mention these relations by the virtual web browser. These are some images illustrating our system:
Everyone older than 18 years who has some experience with literature research is encouraged to take part. Knowledge about neuroscience is not needed.
If you are interested in participating or have any questions, please get in touch with me, Ghazaleh Tanhaei (g.tanhaei@uu.nl).
I hope you’ll find this research exciting and very much appreciate your support!
Ghazaleh Tanhaei,
PhD student @ Utrecht University
